2010 Alaska 14 day Grand Alaska Voyage Third week in May, 2010 Preliminary Plans
I have booked many clients to Alaska for cruises. In addition, every 5 years I escort a group to Alaska on a cruise or on a cruise and tour vacation. During January of 2009, I will take advantage of the early booking discounts offered and the choice of rooms for our group to book our grand Alaska voyage on the Princess Cruise Lines. It will include: Air from Tampa or other cities Day 1--One night in Vancouver Day 2--Ferry to Victoria Island for one night at the Empress Hotel-rated as one of the best in the world. Tour Bouchard Gardens. Day 3--Ferry back to Vancouver and get on the ship for 7 nights with stops in Ketchikan, Juneau and Skagway. Visit Hubbard Glacier and perhaps Glacier Bay. Day 10-Exit the cruise ship in Whittier and get on the Alaska Railway to Denali Park. Spend the night at the Denali Princess Lodge. (A beautiful lodge similar to a Colorado ski lodge) Day 11 Tour Denali Park and spend another night at the Denali Princess Lodge Day 12 Bus to Mt. Mckinley to spend the night at the McKinley Princess Lodge. Visit Talkeetna or take one of the tours or excursions. Day 13 Take the Train to Anchorage and spend the rest of the day and the night at Anchorage. Day 14 Transfer by bus to the airport for the flight home. The price will depend on the economy. All prices are based upon double occupancy. When looking at web sites for fares, they do not include taxes, fees or fuel surcharge as a norm. When I price your cruise, I give you the bottom line and include all those extras. I figure about $4400 per person for a balcony room with about $1500 of the fare being the airfare. Oceanview room perhaps $500 to $600 less per person. Remember, this includes two train trips, buses and 6 nights in fancy hotels.
